Hello.

Welcome to "My life as mom". This blog outlines my life as a mother and the day to day struggles and joys anyone might face in my shoes. Some say I make motherhood look easy, and although my motherly instincts came naturally, sometimes motherhood becomes overwelming. Throw a marriage and friends in the mix and we're talking nuclear war. I want to share my secrets, my tips, my mistakes, my joys, and everything in between with my readers. Check in weekly for snack tips, playtime tips, toy tips, tanturm tips, good wife tips, good friend tips, recipe of the week, and yesss FREEBIES. :)

You spend all your time caring for you new arrival and your body takes the back burner. But as we discussed in my last blog, taking care of you is a very important key. Taking time to doll yourself up once in a while might bring your sexy side back out, and improve your love life as well. You’re after baby body may make you feel uncomfortable, but believe it or not, most men find a curvy womanly body even more attractive after the baby. The trick is to find what makes you feel comfortable and sexy at the same time. Maybe taking the time to do your makeup and give yourself a sexy new do, might put you in an intimate mood. It’s important after having a baby to rekindle things with your significant other. You both can get caught up caring for the baby and all the other responsibilities that come along with the new baby, but you have to take time for each other as well. Blog One

This is my first blog and I wanted it to be fun and hopefully contagious. Being a mom is the greatest thing, but sometimes when you’re juggling time with your baby, your husband, your boyfriend, and your friends and so on, it becomes overwhelming. In order to keep yourself in tip top shape and to continue being the WONDER MOM you really are you need to take time for yourself. Here are some top tips for mommy time, weather you only have 5 minutes or a whole evening, one of these should fit your schedule.

- A hot soak in the tub, or a steamy shower.
- A manicure or pedicure. No time or money to visit the professionals? Do it yourself! You’ll be glad you did!
- Have a girl’s night out. Grab dinner and a movie with a close friend.
- Take a nap! Little one sleeping? Do those dirty dishes later, a nap will refresh you to get the job done better, later.
- Go for a walk or bike ride. Or catch a gym class with a friend.
- Have an adult conversation. Been around your little on all day? Skip the baby talk for a minute and call a family member or friend.

Take it a step further. Enjoy a FREE three piece sample pack from AVEDA. Simply go to http://www.avedabday.com/magazine_offer.php?mag_campaign=whealth and print off the page and redeem at an AVEDA store near you. Sample pack includes there new Color Conserve Trio that comes with the shampoo, conditioner, and strengthen treatment. When you’re a busy mother, and you’ve got a family to fed the last thing you need is a 4 hour meal to cook. I’m all for easy and quick meals. Check in weekly for a new meal idea. This week’s easy meal is Slow Cooker Nacho Chicken & Rice Wraps. Think super taco. Set it cooking when you wake up and it’s done by dinner. How easy is that? Super.

What you need:
*Crockpot (4quart or larger)
*2 cans (10 3/4 ounces each) Campbell's® Condensed Cheddar Cheese Soup
*1 cup of water
*2 cups Pace® Picante Sauce
*1 1/4 uncooked regular long-grain white rice
*2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
*10 flour tortillas (10-inch)

STEP 1- Stir the soup, water, picante sauce, rice and chicken in a 4-quart slow cooker.
STEP 2- Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours or until chicken is cooked through.
STEP 3- Spoon about 1 cup chicken mixture down the center of each tortilla. Fold the tortilla around the filling. Let me know what you think!

A great starter is the Gerber Graduate Puffs that come in a variety of flavors; also you can get these great puffs in off brands as well. The key to these little puffs is that they easily dissolve making snack time a breeze. Next up from the puffs are bite size cheetos like snacks that come in a great variety as well. They also offer jars of diced apples, fresh peas, diced carrots that are great for little ones learning to feed themselves. If your little on enjoys all that you should try there all in one meals, very handy when you’re a busy mom. Don’t forget Gerber Graduates offer really great sippy cups, bowls, plates, and toddlerware. They’ll send out personalized information, tips, tools, and advice for your Childs development. Along with money saving coupons and checks. And emails and booklets specific to your child’s stage. I signed up right after I had my son and still enjoy all the free stuff they send me.

Also Pampers website has free samples of their new and improved cruisers. I also signed up for this deal. It came with three diaper samples in the size I needed and a nifty coupon good for my next diaper purchase. Laugh of the week: 5 things your mother wouldn’t say-
1. "How on earth can you see the TV sitting so far back?"
2. "Let me smell that shirt--yeah, it's good for another week."
3. "Just leave all the lights on...it makes the house more cheery."
4. "Yeah, I used to skip school, too."
5. "Run and bring me the scissors! Hurry!"

Thanks for checking out my new blog. I hope that you’re able to put some of this to use in your own lives. Don’t forget to check back daily for fresh new ideas and new content.
Until next time, Ashley Morehead.
